An xtorq stacks up about the same against the 572.
Stock xtorq: 34.77 seconds.
Stock 572xp: 29.12 seconds.
Muffler modded 572xp: 27.95 seconds. I could push harder on the 572’s. Yes I should have been wearing chaps and I always do. Just a quick test in the log pile, wasn’t logging that day. Lol
I’d say it’s stacks up quite a bit worse by the times. 572 is about 15% quicker through the wood by my quick math. Compared to the OE at only 2.1 seconds behind in a longer cut...572 was only about 4% quicker.

I’m glad the new saw is performing as good or better than the older versions. Otherwise what’s the point

Yes exactly. 90% of people are going to use these things stock, not modify them... and if they do it’s gonna be simple stuff like a muffler mod.

Of course there is more to a good chainsaw than just cutting faster than another one.... the saw as a complete package is important. Time will tell how the 572 does. So far so good.

@huskyboy how's the 7300 stack up?
Stock 7300.
Muffler modded 572xp. Cuts were within 1 second of each other. Which is within the margin of error imo. Out in the woods by feel? I’d say they cut about the same speed, but the 7301 has more grunt. They both have there advantages and disadvantages depending on how you look at it. I like both of them lol.

Decisions decisions. Im just getting back into the saw game after a hiatus and wanting to add a saw or two. I have a ported 372XPW that runs exceptionally well, but this 572 is wett'n the whistle too, has to be ported though LOL. Originally i was contemplating a ported 395XP to pull a 42" bar as the next one to add to the stable and you guys go and throw this wrench in the works :dogpile::jump:
