Anybody ever try those Aluminum welding rods to fix crank cases?

I don't know anything about welding, but I think most crank cases are Magnesium.

Most are. Trying to use an aluminum rod on a magnesium crank case will not end well.

So I am a smart phone owner/operator. I spell really well. But I can't keep this thing from changing
correctly spelled words to something else. I thought about hitting it with a hammer (you know...when all else fails
hit it with a bigger hammer). I can't afford to replace it right now-- so I really can't figure out what to do.
