That's an awesome area including the manmade lake and Kinzua Dam. Not to far from me and love going their. We even have an ever growing Elk herd in several counties in that area. That's our God's Country up that way for sure.

After kingOFgEEEks posting, of course I had to google the Kinzua bridge to find out what was the interest in it.

More pics and cool story in link below.

Yeah. Old and rusty stuff sticking up like that always distracts me!
Old back road trestle bridges were always a good stopping point when out on the motorcycle.

Yuck - I've never heard of anyone retaining leads with a chain. At least with a cable tie system you can see the heads of the anchors even if they're mostly grown over...
Well it was most likely the home owner, or my buddy(the one who had all the "hardware" in the maple ) since he lived there prior to my buddy who lives there currently.
He's working out a contract with the owner and trying to get some cash to remove the two maples that were damaged in the storm, both should have been removed many yrs ago as the are both quite hazardous. I warned them of those trees when they moved in a couple yrs ago. Depending on what he gets worked out I'll cut up all the wood after we let a tree service dismantle it, as much of the tree is over the house and wires and anything you would want to rig from is severely compromised from rot. We'll see what happens, may need you to bring some big saws this way :D.

The fire situation here is getting pretty crazy - a new big fire (Holiday Farm Fire) has burned many homes along the McKenzie River, potentially including the homes of some members here
and at AS. This is a good picture from the IMT Page on the Lionshead fire which is in that area -
