Forgive my ignorance... compare and contrast a "port job" (a la tree monkey) with a "woods port"?

I would say virtually nothing. Scott will do more extreme work if you ask him to but primarily he wants your saw to be a work saw that puts a smile on your face and still be easy to use. Check out my sig for a video of my MS261 in Scott's hands.

Both Scott and Randy build top notch saws. I would have a hard time choosing between them for another saw. My concern is I don't have any stock saws to get done...

Well, I try to keep my MMWS 562 like new, I don't use it that much, because I'm saving it for the day when my WWS 562 will quit working. But I just replaced the piston ring 2 weeks ago, and the saw is still very strong.

Since I use ported US saws, I always want to have a new one in stock for the sizes I use the most. So basically, a new 346 and a new 562.

Try out the little brother to 562/2260...2253/550xp. I have 200 cord on a 2253 with just a muffler mod and advanced timing and its a impressive little saw.

No doubt they're mean little screamers, but a strong ported 346 is hard to beat... and they're so easy to fix!

Again here is another video showing some of @tree monkey run by no other than @drf256 himself. The 2:00 mark shows a typical woods ported 261 (mine) again...
