Lol you did a amazing job on them Scotty.
I'm really happy how they turned out. The straight one, I wanted it a little wider width at the blade, but I intended them to be used for smaller work (like hatchet and hammer handles), so it will be nice for what it was made for. They feel really nice in the hands, I can't wait to put them into some wood....

If you make some more I might need on a list. I have some black walnut you could use for handles. We just would need to see if it's worth it to ship it to you.

I have some curly black cherry, curly maple, hickory, black Walnut, locust, applewood, and some plum wood too....

But I'll gladly use your donated wood on your knives when we make 'em....

I'll be slamming some of these out as soon as I get my forge hood and flue built, hopefully the next month or so.

Your going to make me finally go buy a flyrod!
You don’t need to spend $800 on rod/reel, but I don’t recommend cheaping out and grabbing one at Dicks.
For all-around trout, panfish and light bass fishing, get yourself a 5/6wt. If you’re interested, let me know, I can help you pick something that’ll suit your needs without breaking the bank.
If you’re crafty, you can build your own fly rod.
Builders kits can be had for under $100.
I built one for my dad about 9-10yrs ago.
Maybe had $60 in it. It came out really nice too!
No need to get crazy with a reel, unlike regular reels, a fly reel is simply a place to hold your line. If it weren’t for tangling, a person could just stuff the line in a cargo pocket and pull out what they needed.
