Had no idea they were that inexpensive. Where is it that you can buy one for $45?
Idk I've seen mighty vac 8500's for 45 bucks. Seems like an aweful lot of work just to save a buck.

Hard for me to justify spending $62 (to my door) for a tool I'll use once for sure, and very rarely if at all thereafter.
Now, if I was working on saws frequently, I'd already have one.
Seems like I got mine awhile ago someplace else with free shipping but I did find it here for 45:
Tooldiscounter.com

I've seen them for around that price other tool places/ebay.

Mine was 45 to my door. Horses for courses I guess.
Well, I asked where you could get one for $45 and didn't get an answer. I appreciate your attempt. However, the link you provided was about $62 to my door.
"A fool and his money are soon parted" I guess. I'm trying hard not to be the fool.
Can't say I'm succeeding, but trying.

Now if I could just get caught up with everything else, maybe I could find time to work on the saw.

Yessir, it'll run. If I tilt it sideways or upside down it'll quit. Also after a wot it idles all over the place before settling down and eventually dying.
So you're saying shoot a little spray around the crank seals and intake while it's running and see if it changes anything? I've heard of that but never tried it.
If it runs somewhat a can of carb cleaner works cheap.

Yep. It will suck it in and change the idle if a seal is bad. I'VE got stuff to pressure test with but rarely ever use it. If a seal is bad it usually needs bearings.

Your right. Good luck with the saw. I'll stop trying to help now.

If you guys think that'll work I'll buy it for $22. Have to fab up something for the plug hole tho, right? Any air fittings that have the same threads as spark plugs? Thinking out loud.
Keep the ideas coming, great so far!
I removed the ceramic part of a spark plug and epoxied a small pipe into the center of it. I haven't tried it yet because I'm still looking for a pump. I'm seeing how cheaply it can be done also..

my pressure /vac test vid...

pressure and vac testing a 345/350 is not nearly as easy as a 372.... if it has never been torn down, you have to tear it down, plain and simple.

I don't pressure and vac test my 350s....its tricky to do so because that impulse line is so small. ideally its best to have custom blocking plates like has been said above, and yes, I use a mitivac 8500. I paid full price on ebay :(

use sealor and make everything in there fresh and new.

I've watched your videos before, huge help. I'll follow your advice after I give the carb cleaner a try. I'd like to know where the leak is before teardown.

I'm probably going the usual route of new ring, base gasket delete, metal intake clamp, crank bearings/seals, etc. Maybe add a port to the muffler.
