need some advice..

Getting ready to ship off my 576xp ph only. I've got one of the triangular shaped husky boxes that my 562 came in. Is that enough to stand up to UPS handling, or should I try to fit that box into another box?

You might be better off getting a rectangular box. I wrap my powerheads in bubble wrap, put them inside a garbage bag after draining the tanks and letting the residual gas evaporate,
wrap them in another layer of bubble wrap, and then put all that inside a second garbage bag. I also wad up newspaper and fit that around the bar studs in case any residual bar
oil drains out. I make sure the powerhead is snug in a box that's a fairly tight fit. I use those plastic bubble pods to take up any space.

My grandma ran a warehouse for DOD for years and she said, if you don't want something to break during shipping, pack it tight.

I've shipped them in a plastic tote before through UPS.
Wrap it in a bag or 2 after draining, and pack it in there good and tight with cardboard, chunks of foam and whatever else I have handy.
Sure, I lose a $8 tote, but as long as it gets it there in one piece, I'm sure whomever the powerhead is going to could find a use for it.

No. You need to pack as the other guys say. You literally can’t over pack a saw.

16” x 12” x 12” box, double wall if you can find one. Check U haul. 50 cents there.

It will weigh 19-20 # and FedX can get it from NW Missouri to Portland, Oregon in less than four days for $28 plus minus.

Tip: a box from Lowe’s fits inside the Uhaul box.

Don’t waste your money on the USPS.

Those triangle boxes come in different sizes, so if it fits with room around it, yes, if not, then no, best not.

Size 5 & 6 diaper boxes work pretty well... Plus I figured most people won't mess with a box of diapers sitting on someones front porch.

I almost always remove the front handle and bucking spikes. garbage bags - tied tight. newspapers to fill void. And if I have any available, cardboard tubes for under the saw; incase it gets dropped and the bottom of the case doesn't get smashed/broke.

Smallest box your saw will comfortably fit in with room for padding, will be as economical as it gets. Oversize with extra padding will cost a premium to ship. Don't forget to tape off them dawgs so they aren't sticking through the box when it arrives to its destination. Some extra cardboard won't hurt either in front of them and as always, drain both tanks real good and enclose in a garbage bag to contain any oil burping out of the pump and any fuel smell.

I have received several saws, most packing jobs made me cringe my teeth!
I have shipped out three saws, I went double boxed one inside another and lots of cushioning material.
I am also not saving on duck tape to keep the boxes shut.

Shipping whole saws makes me weary!

I avoid using duct tape & shipping companies advise to not use it since it doesn't stock well to cardboard and it loosens and stretches in heat.

I have a stockpile of airbags saved from Amazon & China for shipping, but they go fast when shipping saws, so I'll pump up the deflated bags too & tape over the leak.

Make sure you pack garbage in there too like plastic bottles and cereal boxes! JK dont be that asshat.

I got a parts saw off of Ebay once that was literally packed in garbage. Banana peels, coffee grounds, cigarette butts, pieces of eggshells - you name it. At least there weren't any
dirty diapers.

I know! What possess someone to pack a saw in trash blows my mind!
I did buy a 1050 from a member and he built a plywood frame/box inside a cardboard box packed with wood noodles. He worked for UPS and said "if you can't stand on it ,it won't survive " .
The extra cost of shipping a vintage saw is what it is and I don't skimp on packing materials, as the alternative is a broken irreplaceable piece of history.

Had a fella ask me a couple years ago how to ship one. I told him to pack some cardboard around it and newspaper balls or bubble wrap. It was delivered to me sitting on top of an empty box of Lucky Charms inside the box
