Took out the gills, and opened the middle deflector, and put the screen back.

Might need to get a different sticker.:pesas:

Baby formula costs more than race gas!

I've been putting off having my shoulder scoped so this should put it over the edge.

Looking forward to seeing it run

Ohhh now ya tell me... that little starter handle might need to be swapped out..

The "plan"

Use the same poulan bar/ ps chain "pictured" as in the first test cuts. On the same log to see what gains I made.

Then switch to the orange gb 18" bar/picco chain. And compare to the 490. In 8-12" log.

I'll get some weight readings with both saws ready to cut too.

Any other wood size? Noodle vid? Open to suggestions.

If you can find some liming work to try it out on with the shortest bar you are using in the test it will show up throttle response in the sort of tasks the saw " may " be at its most effective on. X cutting 2-10 inch timber should be covered in this sort of job plus the handiness of the saw will ether become apparent or not.

Thank you,

Both saws feel/balance the same with the 18" bar/chain. And I have a pair of each brand new, main reason for using the 18".

I will find a long 3-4" stick to do a bunch of cuts for testing throttle response.

As for the real world limbing/ handling characteristics of each saw, I don't feel it is fair for me to make that call.

Some people can swing a 661 and 32" bar limbing all day. While others prefer a 12" on a 35cc for small work.

I am just trying to show the performance of each saw.

Since the dolmar is in the same weight/price class as the echo I feel the most fair comparison is to use the same bar/chain on both.

Think one saw plan.

Fair comment.....X cutting a stick will be pretty representative anyhow.

Bury da bar, willya? That's what us Dolmar guys do anyhow, keep cuttin till we run outta bar, then grab a big saw.

Yes sir..

I'll see what I can come up with...

See, this is the first dolmar I've held. It failed the mention protocol before I opened it up :)

Should be more egear than ever to pull bar buried.

I hope.....
