so do you know why?
cause awesomeness attaches itself to everything I touch?

Sounds like treemonkey has a deep dark secret he wants to share :)
I wanna know the answer even if I wont really understand it, cause someday I will.

Yep that's about all I build anymore.
Work saws are boring and for work, yuk
Pretty much all my saws are for playin, I cut my firewood for 4 years with 064 hybrid & 20" bar. That kinda makes the 60cc saws seem like there lacking something

Curious why the 046 has 6mm and these 5?
Maybe they found out the case threads were stripping. I think both the 044 and 064 are 5mm and the 046 and 066 are 6mm, so it was an engineering fix. I have had a couple 064s with stripped holes and even 066s too so my vote is the case is the weak connection.

The base on a 064 is thin but everything else is thick so maybe when they needed longer bolts they stepped up a size. Maybe?
"they say" the super early 066 redlight with the thin base is the boss of all stock runners, if that isn't just a bunch of hooey, is the thin base part of what makes the 064s so much fun to run?

I don't think so,a 064 has good timing numbers from the jump and so did the early 066's.
One of my red light saws had a thin base and one does not and both are original, the same guy bought them both new and they both had the big end bearing let go.
