no wonder it wasn't a slouch. Comparing it to a ported saw from the start sure won't make a saw "appear" fast.
I never ran it with the ported cylinder.

The stock 066 cylinder on it in the video is the first I've had it running. I think it does good for a stock saw. It's 175 lb compression now.

I sent the saw to Jason not realizing somebody had already ported it before I got it. When Joe ELECT6845 sold it to me he told me it needed bearings and seals and I never started it or got around to doing the bearings/seals.
When Jason tore it down to do the bearings he saw the ported cylinder and asked who had done it?
We don't know who did it.
I touched base with Joe and he is gonna check in later.

Dave really seems to have a thing for hybrids lately. I like it:applaudit:. Who's gonna built him an 024 with the 026 top end? Or does he already have one of those
I have done plenty of those myself but there isn't more to it than ending up with an MS260 in different covers really, same thing with the 034/036/MS360 builds, they really don't strike me as a hybrid per se.
A fun exercise and usually more profitable than just rebuilding an 024 or 034.
Someday I will have a really ridiculous hybrid built....someday (090 top end on an 026?)

Well I can clear this up. Dave bought this saw along with a few others from me. It was in need of a bearing and seals so I sold it to him with the parts to fix. The porting was done by me. At that time I was pretty new to porting and remember reading every thread I could on the subject. Randy (Mastermind) had shown a thread about a step in the exhaust floor and since I had the top end of this saw at the time I figured why not. Also at the time there was a lot of talk about finger/bridge ports and since I had just purchased the porting tool I went wild.

I never mentioned the porting to Dave because the saw was in need of repair when he bought it. I just figured it really wasn't worth talking about as I wasn't going to ask more money because it was "ported". I was just having fun and trying to learn as I still am. I thought he would run it and then ask if anything was done to it.

I cant believe you let this sit for over a year. LOL

mystery solved :)
heck if I had known it was ported I would MAYBE have been a little less lazy in getting around to the bearings and seals you included :)
but how can it be ported without a sticker, isn't that the law? :detenido:
I just noticed the james bond smilie :) appropriate for an undercover sneaky stealth port job.

I didn't post pictures to bash the porter it's actually done quite well.
I thought that randy did it but you watching his build thread makes sense.
Good job,it's my cylinder now and I'm gonna try it
