anybody got some numbers please, thanks .
@davidwyby Typical me, day late and dollar short. The 357 Top end I did for yours ended up atWal, I went & did er up. I put this together a couple of years ago, a 359 top on a 357 case & crank, base gasket delete, aftermarket muff with a 15/16 outlet.
Checking the No's I got ex 105, trans 118, in77, squish .022.
I decided to go with that.
I widened the intake 1/8 on each side, the exhaust not quite that much.
I had allready matched the lower transfers, oh, this wearing a 372 carb also.
After a few cuts comp is at 160. My, my, my, those rakers have gotta come down.![]()
I use 1 to 4 so far.what numbers do y'all use on the 357?
It looks like I have my first ruined cyl. under my belt, apparently the degree wheel must have moved.Well, I dragged that 372 out of hiding and followed Treemoncky's video.
When it came to doing the upper transfers with a dremel I could see it going bad quickly, so now there is two new tool names in the shop, Foredom & luckydog.
I can only hope I get as much out of the 372 as came out of the 359, I laugh out loud every time I run that saw.
What's 114 put blowdown at?It looks like I have my first ruined cyl. under my belt, apparently the degree wheel must have moved.
Today I ground the transfers to the marks for 122 degrees, before I smoothed them up I decided to put the wheel on for a last check, it showed I was already down to 114 degrees.
It was an old cyl., one of the rings had a .060 gap, the other must have been replaced cuz it was rite tight. All is not lost, there's two new oem p&c on the shelf.
If I had a lathe, I'll keep it on the shelf with that in mind.If you’d cut the base and squish a bunch you might still be able to make that work.
12 degrees.What's 114 put blowdown at?
You considered raising the exhaust roof 4 degrees? Torque may be peaky but it'd be fast. 16 blowdown is a bit small and 98 exhaust a bit high but nothing too ridiculous.12 degrees.
There's an idea I can play with, I'll have to study on that tomorrow, thanks. You considered raising the exhaust roof 4 degrees? Torque may be peaky but it'd be fast. 16 blowdown is a bit small and 98 exhaust a bit high but nothing too ridiculous.
