Wal, I went & did er up. I put this together a couple of years ago, a 359 top on a 357 case & crank, base gasket delete, aftermarket muff with a 15/16 outlet.
Checking the No's I got ex 105, trans 118, in77, squish .022.
I decided to go with that.
I widened the intake 1/8 on each side, the exhaust not quite that much.
I had allready matched the lower transfers, oh, this wearing a 372 carb also.
After a few cuts comp is at 160. My, my, my, those rakers have gotta come down.:pesas:

@davidwyby Typical me, day late and dollar short. The 357 Top end I did for yours ended up at
Intake 77°
Exhaust 103°
Transfers 121°

@old guy sounds to me like you're on track. They're such great saws. Underrated in my opinion. Especially once they're punched up a bit.

On these saws I like intake at 77-78° I have a personal 359 set at 80° without issue
I set my exhaust at 101-103° most like the 105° range from what I've read.
Squish set at .018 - .020
I feel they like less blowdown than some others, I set mine at 16°-18°
I widen both intake and exhaust ports to 65% of bore as well as stretching the upper transfers towards the intake side a touch. I open up the lowers too, but I don't go crazy. I also open up and narrow up the divider in the transfer covers. They really take to a slight bump in ignition timing too. Right around 28° btdc.

Yeah, I did the ignition too I moved it one fin on the flywheel.
I was amazed at the torque, chain was pretty good, 20'' bar in 12'' white oak and I had to pull pretty hard to slow it down.
Funny thing, it sat in the pole shed for probably 18 months and when I pulled the muffler it was filled with acorns, gonna have to put a plug in that big hole.

Ya know, I have another one of these, hmmm!
