I'm wondering about the undersized piston myself

How much undersized are we talking?

It was oem to begin with. Atleast the last rebuild was a oem 44 mm piston in a 44.3 cyl. I don't know if it was ever changed by the first guys. I hope they just cleaned it up and didn't catch that they used the wrong piston. Either way it's getting a 45 mm am jug and slug. As well as the soft stuff. The oem jug is destroyed from the piston skirt rocking

If it had a 44.3 mm closed port jug then it had a 346 top end for some reason, and if that was the case you went backwards with the 45mm top end.

I missed out on a few sales.the 036\360 cylinders this past friday for $20 and the 346xp cylinders a few weeks ago. i did catch the aluminum 026 handles man those things are the bomb.

I must have missed a few sales as well. The 026 aluminum handles would have been something I was interested in (depending on shipping).

I'm sure I went backwards on the quality and performance of the cylinder. But since it was never right and the saw is rough I am just playing with it to see if I can make it run
