Hey all, Grew up, and now living with my wife and toddler, on this beautiful 240 ac. parcel in some of the roughest country. We are off-grid, propane for fuel, wood for heat, solar and generator for power. Plenty of work to do at both ends, and several lifetimes of learning left to go.

Hey all, thanks for the big welcome!

@Deets066 @czar800 -- I'm out in California, in the west Sonoma County hills. Most of us call it deep Cazadero, since the town itself is some ways away.

@dall -- I started with one Stihl ms251c.. bought a Husq 281xp a short time ago from someone here on the board, and about to have another. I can see your prediction coming true. Norm has been a good influence.

I'm a software engineer by trade. Grew up, and now living with my wife and toddler, on this beautiful 240 ac. parcel in some of the roughest country. Hey Damian welcome -- I'm a software engineer too and just can't get enough running saws!

A recent project we've been working is a dyno for saws for which I built some electronics and Bill Corey @wcorey built the mechanical part. You can read all about it on this thread: http://opeforum.com/threads/saw-dyno.2285 It is as close as I've gotten to combining my software/hardware/embedded linux hobby with saws.

If you can find a way to get to a Get Together (GTG) I strongly recommend it! We've got one coming up in CT at Dan's place @paragonbuilder if you happen to travel to the Northeast often for any reason. I live here to be near Boston since Boston is like Silicon Valley of the east.
