Was at cherry point before A-school for four months. Then to Millington, did well enough in AVA, that got to do AFTA, (advanced first term avionics). Was in two years before I even set foot in work center 650. Was at El Toro when lcpl foote stole the A4.

As far as transfer to avionics from eod, aside from being a safer mos, rank was definitely harder to get. My boy made E6 in nine years. I go out in 4 as a Lcpl. Too many WM's getting promoted.

Also, "I" level avionics was boring as heck! Looking back, I think I would have rather been an 0311. At least they got to go outside, besides FOD walk. Lol

The only thing we had that hooked to our 19" b&w TV was the antenna.
Somehow, we still managed to have fun.

We did have lawn darts...........the toy industries contribution to natural selection.

My play station from 1963 to 1979 was 4 teats on 6 to 8 jersey cows. ( fun back then! )
