Though the OP's is pretty vintage. love that handle

Ayuh,..... I love the palm swell in it, it's great for pullin' blocks outa the pile,....
But like I said, I ain't seen another like it,...

This is one I made,....
Don't care for the handle, to tinny feelin' when usin' it,....
Probably gonna go to heavier pipe, or a wooden handle,.....

Ayuh,.... I like 'em,.... Great job,....

I did a little cleanin' 'n tunin' on Dad's ole pickeroon,....

Cut the top outa a plastic jug, set the handle in it, 'n filled it with boiled linseed oil,....
Soaked it 3, 4 weeks,... pulled it out, wiped the whole thing down with the drippin's, 'n this is what I got,...

I'm happy with it,....

Drippins?

Ayuh,... It sat in a bottle of boiled linseed oil, filled to 'bout a 1/2inch short of the head,......
You can sorta see the oil line in the 2nd pic, just below the iron head, on the handle,...

When I pulled it out, it was drippin' the boiled linseed oil, so I wiped it down with a rag, 'n slathered the entire thing with the linseed oil wet rag,....
