It's hollow goes into the crank case where it weeps a little oil on to the clutch bearing . Summer before last I did two complete restores on 2 P-100's .I mean right down to the bones .Two saws and a spare crankcase with the rotating assembly and made two completed .In my opinion they are the mostly robustly built chainsaws I've ever worked on .

If I get some time in the next few days I'll snap a picture of the spare crankshaft .

Would any of you have a head gasket for an R11 or R12? I’d like to replace the head on mine because of broken fins, but I won’t take it apart until I have a gasket.
TIA.

Here's a picture of the rotating assembly of a Partner p-100 .I think the hole goes to the center of the clutch stub shaft but it appears that way .Weather it blows the fuel with oil in it or picks up the dribblings from the oil pump I'm not certain .It would however work on crankcase impulse but the question remains how would it not act like a leaky seal ??? By the way the oil pump is made it would appear to me it could weep a little bit .When I get the time I'll see if it's better explained in the manual .BTW I'm not a Partner expert by any means .BTW look at the rod and the discoloration that's caused by the induction heater used to heat treat the rod .Many people comment about seeing this and thinking the bearings are running hot which they are not .I've gotten tired of arguing with them .WTH 29 years in an automobile engine plant I've seen a couple million rods .

Yet in spite of that info I still can't wrap my mind around the fact it could certainly cause a lean run with a hole that size .On the other hand the Swedes are a smart bunch by and large and evidently they know something the rest of us don't .Perhaps possibly an overly large crankcase volume .Can't blow out much and can't suck in a lot .

Rambling on another unproven theory .When I rebuilt those two old red wood slayers I rebuilt the oil pumps .Yet in spite of that they still puff blue smoke on a start up which is why I think because of the design they weep a tiny bit of oil .That wee bit of oil would be enough they don't lean run .It does mot affect the way they run because they go like a scalded ape .That's 99 cc of high compression .

Looking for a set of clutch shoes for an R/11-R12, or a way to bond the linings onto the shoes of the one I have.
Thanks!

Thanks Kenneth! I asked two brake shops to no avail, I might try bonding them up with epoxy figuring that's how it was done in the first place. I'm guessing I can't make it worse!

Brake shoe rivets like in the old days.

U will need to drill and counter sink.

Back in the old day, you got your choice at the parts counter.

“Bonded or riveted?” Because mechanics didn’t trust the new brake shoe glue.

Thanks Karl, but they are too small to rivet I think. They’re more like strips and probably why they come loose.

I had one more chance on a parts saw but took 5 days trying to get the clutch off without screwing up the shoes. Finally got it tonight.
