Not really snake oil, Boiler stop leak from Menards. I can't believe it worked so well. I was losing about a half gallon per hour on the outside of the water jacket on an 18 year old Central boiler. Figured I'd try the snake oil treatment until I had time to tear it down and get it repaired. Much to my surprise it quit leaking after about 24 hours and yes it still has water in it.o_O I know the end is near for it, but it might get me through the season.

Interesting! I’ve a 12 year old CB 6048. Maybe I’ll be looking for that some day. Was there a brand name on it?o_O

They had two kinds. I used one of each. One was called Base Hit II. I only remember that because it seemed like an odd name. Around 10 bucks each, in the plumbing isle near the pex fittings. Still no leaks, it's a long way until May though. I hope it holds up.
