I meant to hit my local dealer the other day and didn’t have a chance to. Anyway, if they have one what size bar would you pick? I’m thinking I want a 16” bar with a yellow rs chain. From what I’ve read they’re typically.325 chain. I have a 20 and 28 bar for my 462 so I don’t want it with a 20. Seems like that’s how a lot of them come. What says y’all? All 261s are rim drive right?

I run a 16” on mine and it’s great. I’d probably go 18” if I didn’t have my 550xp mk2. I run an 18” and a 20” on that. It’s more powerful (and heavier) than the 261.

Another vote for 16 inch. Nice balance with that size bar.

I have a ported 261 and run an 18” .325 on it. I have run 20” 3/8 and .325 on the same saw and I don’t think the saw even noticed the extra load. Great saws!
7pin as well here.

rs full chisel for felling and clean wood; rm semi-chisel for general purposes.
