Iv'e got a '97 vintage Olympyk 962 that I picked up recently. In taking it apart to check, clean and adjust before I really tried to put it to work I removed the clutch cover and got a look at the oil pump adjust mechanism. Can anyone explain to me how this works ? It looks like just a threaded rod with a square nut on it that attaches to nothing, almost like the chain tensioner but without the pin to engage the blade. I looked in the manual (Everything I can find looks like it's for a newer version of the saw with a compression release, not sure if the pump adjust is different or not. Mine is opposite the blade from the chain tensioner) and the service guide but can't find anything that makes it clearer. It looks like the pump feeds into a tube that runs into a groove/channel in the saw body bit it's all above the adjustment assembly. Just want to understand how it works so I can make sure it's adjusted correctly when I start running it.

Thanks

OK, it looks like what I thought was the oil adjust is something else. This picture shows what I am talking about, the threaded shaft with the square nut below the breather for the oil tank. The chain tensioner is part of the clutch cover but this has a channel coming from the breather. I have no idea what its purpose is or what it adjusts 20200119_140036.jpg .

Mine has the chain tensioner adjuster there. You have a pic of your cover?

Mine has the tensioner in the cover, maybe something isn't original but they all fit and match up fine. If the nut in the case had a tab on it they would both work for the chain.

It looks like you may have a different cover on your saw. It looks like it should work fine the way that it's set up.
