The enlarged hole in the bar may just be less susceptible to clogging. The pump is going to put out what it does no matter what. It'll go to the chain groove or make a mess under the clutch cover. If you don't have a mess under the clutch cover it's all going to the chain groove. You have a dry chain and no mess the oil filter is clogged, are out of oil, line is pinched, a vent isn't venting if it has one or least likely the pump isn't working. And other reasons no doubt.

I fight this all the time with the ES Light, and new ES bars. I can’t even get a piece of 1/16” TIG wire through. I’ve opened all of mine up to around 3/32” drilled straight in and they’re much easier to keep clean, and flow more oil.

My Cannon & GB bars, on the other hand, have a larger hole to start and do much better.

Do you make the hole bigger and keep it round or elongate it? I elongate mine that look or act like they need it.

I’ve found the same issues with the stihl es lite bars. I didn’t realize what was going on until I bought a sugi hara bar and had more oil than I needed. The sugi hara has a significantly larger hole. Probably double the area.

I’ve never had an issue with oiling on my bars light or otherwise, the pump only puts so much out and the larger the hole the easier for an actual chip to plug it. They put the hole at an angle to help feed oil down groove into the chain. Just because oil isn’t running off the bar doesn’t mean it’s not enough.
