Meant to post this the other day...son’s been looking for an suv the last few weeks and either he and I or his mother and him have looked at a small handful of decent ones. He found this garage kept, one-owner ‘04 Explorer XLT 4x4, 4.0 V6 with 104K miles last week and scooped it up. Loaded, leather interior, sunroof, three-row seating, running boards...it’s in cherry, immaculate condition inside and out. New OEM factory headlight assy’s, all maintenance records, oil changes, etc from the initial purchase. Ol’ fella wanted $3500 for it, he and Jared got to bullshittin’, he was in the Navy as well and served on a couple of aircraft carriers decades ago...Jared walked with it for $2500 cash.

Evening guys. Jeopardy is on and food is about done.

Changed the valve cover gasket on my mom's car, as well as put in new plugs and cleaned the coil pack boots and put a few squirts of soapy tire bead on all 4 tires to ensure a good seal is still there and no leaks.

Messed up, I was supposed to rethread one of the spark plug wells but forgot after I put the cover and seals back on. I got the 5/8" tap but it wouldn't fit in any of the 5/8" sockets I had. It fit in the 13/16 one fine but wouldn't fit in the well. So voila, dug around and realized I had a Mercedes Benz lug nut tool that would work. Taped it up and done. Got new thread set and plugs in. And that's why they call me McGyver [emoji41]
