Yeah a face mask isn't a bad idea lol. It's a pre safety Sally edition lol. Love the v8 power.

Congerts Mike!

I've always felt a facemask is a good idea regardless of the chipper style. Chit flies back out atcha from the disk chippers with the safety Sally bling just as fast as those old skool chuck n ducks. Wear ppe and don't stand there and watch it eat and you should be fine.

Slap that azz good!

The only other piece of advice I can give you Mike is a chuck and duck doesn't like twisty branches with lots of crotches.
Yeah some of the manzanita was a bish for sure. The blades could use a good sharpening. Since Bailey's is close I might go that route.

It's good to have 2 sets of knives anyway. That way you can keep the chipper working while the other set gets sharpened. Don't over look the anvil (the part opposite of the knives). That part should be adjustable. You don't want that gap to be to big.

Yeah that would be a hell of a way to go out. Thank you for your input. Have you sharpened your own blades before?

Np mang chippers is in my wheelhouse. Yesh you too can do a pretty good job on a standard bench grinder. Just have a pan of oil or water to dip the blades in after each pass and keep the pressure light. Once you blue that edge your boned.

I assume got to keep them all the same length, or best as possible?
