What's legal and what people use are 2 different things. You see home made trailers with cut down mobile home axles all the time, not legal but people still run them. You can actually buy decent heavy duty new tires for them, not the one time only mobile home "not for road use" or whatever tires that come on them.

lol my splitter has a mobile home axle on it but it usually doesnt get hauled much
