I think this is the first year since we moved in to this house that a pair of Mallards didn’t show up for a swim in the pool.

I do pass at least 3 nesting pairs of Canadian Geese on my walk. Hoping the pelicans come back this year but now signs of them yet.

Absolutely!
It Will keep you from being able to tuck and roll, and thus cause you to bash into the lattice boom steel. This will ensure that you break at least one bone, and you get to go home for a few weeks of "vacation".
Safety. We need it, but a good mixing of common sense would be way more efficient.
Too bad common sense is so uncommon now.....
