The rangers are ok, I raised them 3-4 years. I went back to Cornish rock pullets and keep them on fresh grass. They grow quick and stay tender. The rangers are a little tougher but still good. We don't buy much meat from the store only if we run low on our stuff.

There was a time I raised birds, pigs, and killed deer for "red" meat. Only meat I bought was a rib eye for the grill a few times a year. I do miss pigs...

I picked up a couple piglets Saturday, nothing special. They aren't much to look at right now but we'll see what we can do with them. The farm we usually get them from gave it up.
