Marine grade heat shrink tubing. The stuff with internal glue holds best. It’s pretty cheap on Amazon; a 3ft length for around $6.

I scuff up the handle a little bit and clean it really well. If it does loosen up you can hit it with heat again.

Bicycle or tennis wraps work. Road bike tape.
