From what I can gather, it sounds like maybe the old gas ate the float needle or the float and it filled the crankcase with gas. If it blew the filter off, then yeah, no bueno. Worse if it was thin enough to wash the oil off the bearing surfaces. Was any fire associated with any of this?
Did you perhaps hear knocking/loud rattling sounds just prior to filter eject?
10% eth usually stored dry most times or near empty.

No damage I can see. It was filled with gas two nights before to be ready  It bumped back once during start up. I wiggled the battery cable, it was loose. Then it launched that block plate at start up and had an oil down. Took me a bit to figure wtf happened and then the fumes hit my nose. Problem solved.

My tank at mid point is below the pump and carb bowl. Three gallons full ttt is what caused it. Just above the seat... easy fix. Just hope it's fine. It started right up with no issue at idol.

Question for you B&S V twin mechanics.
Do I just replace it with an SAE pipe thread nipple and a new oil filter or go find a used block plate?
None are shown or offered for sale or in IPL listings. Found out all that in videos. Murry was known to delete the filter. I have a Craftsmen riding mower with the 21hp v twin.

The nipple unscrewed right out of the case. It split clean at the cap face. Gasket is still stuck on perfect. I'm betting it has a tight motor to make that kind of pressure in the oil pump or is this more of a case pressure issue, idk. Never owned one before or messed with them internally on the bottom end.

Me personally, I'd go find a block plate.

So um, I MIGHT know where there is a bone stock all original never been painted 1973 Bronco. Factory hard top. 302 V8. Factory auto trans. Factory AIR CONDITIONED. metallic burnt copper with white top. White interior. Has had aftermarket rims and tires put on, but not much else last time I saw it. Thats been several years ago. Original owner who was a good friend of mine sold it to the present owner. Original owner has passed. Current owner has changed jobs. I used to talk to him regularly. Need to look him up. That truck would be EXPENSIVE, but it would be something not a lot of people get to experience.
Send it here. Some paint, they bring mad loot and some head to the west coast immediately for flipping. Did they use that body till 73' or 74'?
