Line 1...three clocks, two of which have a value of 9 each, the other has a value of 3, total 21

Line 2...three same calculators with the display '1234', each display added has a value of 10, total 30

Line 3...three light bulbs with 'five' light lines above each, each light line has a value of 3 (3x5=15) per each bulb

Line 4...clock value is 9, calculator display reads '1224' vice '1234' for a value of 9, now is where the stumper comes in...each of the three bulbs only have 'four' light lines above each bulb (each light line has a value of 3, now each bulb represents a total of 12 per bulb (12x3)

So... 9 + 9 x (12 x 3) = 333

And there you folks have it. I blew it out my ass the first time I tried it quite a while back...second time I hit it.

Thank you. It really isn’t about math and PEDMAS it’s about solving the initial riddle of the values of the symbols. I can admit I messed that up based on your explanation.

Sweet. You're definitely catching on. Plus.....GFY.

Ol stinky sweat !!!

Now.....I quit school in 1979. I'd never seen algebra. I said to my mom once that I thought algebra was stupid. Keep in mind that my mom was an industrial engineer. She went on to explain to me that whenever I figured out a rafter.....or a set of stairs that I was using several different types of math, and that algebra was one of them. Then, she laid out the process of calculating a rafter from measuring the width of the building to the addition of the tail. Brother......I was gobsmacked.

Very nice Steve !!!!
but rafters and stairs have set parameters for the rise and run
Same thing with figuring areas of shapes and weights of objects that we use everyday

I like trying to solve these damn brain teaser things...some of 'em are tough as hell though, just mindboggling kinda *s-wordt.

I think he’s still trying to put the pieces together. I betting it happened when he was 19 or 20.

Any of my American friends that have good Canada Storie are from when they could legally drink here but not at home.

Now i dont got a dog in this fight. But im just curious if airplane schematics are printed like that. I know our blueprints here aren't. Why dont we just go wif whole numbers and fractions from here on out. LOL
Because they want you to go around the bush 20 times before you find it. It's a *f-worded up garbage way of doing things.

And i find it easier maybe because im getting old to just step off rafters and stairs with a framing square. That way I'm physically looking at my layout. Maybe if they explained how algebra would work in real life it would have been more understandable.

It's honestly not a great story, just the one I think of when I hear Canada Day. Being there made it better.

Took a bit ot an unscheduled swing out of a tree a bit ago. Rope, sound technique, and my ghey lookin power ranger climbing helmet saved me getting busted up. Been a half dozen years since my last misstep. Guess its fukin quitin time for the day. Be careful out there fellas.
