those are ductwork rod for us
we weld tubes with mostly stainless 9018 and 8018
depends on where on the unit we are welding

That's cool, is 9018 a better all purpose rod? I read about amperages too, so far I got weld exhaust at 35-40 amps

correct but at the pressures the unit runs at and the weight hanging off the top of the boiler is why we go stronger
