Sure he was having a virus, or a fungi of some sort, but it wasn't a corona :beer-toast1:.
Well she ain't much to look at but she lives. Stayed long enough to hear it fire then I had to hit the road. Thanks @brad ruch for the warm shop and case tools. Thanks @chipper1 for the snacks and shop stove wood.

Stihl dealer told me he knows of a guy that
Tried to ship 2 500i to the U.S..
He didn't know where the guy bought them at.
But they were stopped at the first attempt
At customs.
He had them taken apart and they tried again
They were seized at the second attempt
The guy's out of quite a bit of money.
I told the dealer to check the forums there's
Been a couple sold recently.

I understand US want to get import tax money, other then that, is there any other reasons they can stop 2 saws entering US?
Where I live, whatever I buy through internet (no drugs, alchohol, cigs), if it get stopped at customs, all I need to do is to pay the import tax, the package will eventually end at my door.

Don't know I've bought complete saws from China
Never an issue.

Alpina chainsaws were sold at my friends shop
In the 90s
They resupplied once a year saws, parts, brushcutters etc.
They went out of business because the last shipment was seized by customs
And never released.
Drugs is the only thing customs would say.

Stihl USA likes to pretend that they control USPS and can stop any unauthorized saws from entering the country. Somewhere I have a letter from Stihl Canada telling me as much...
