The old fella I check on fell couldn't get up was there two days he said. His neighbor broke in two doors to get him on Sunday same day as mom passed. He called 911 so he could get looked at. I just found this out yesterday his neighbor retired pastor gave me a call to tell me. I had to call his brother to let him know. I don't know why he couldn't get up somehow. Thinking he needs life alert. Like that commercial.

it's scary
something like that happened to a couple of older women
that were neighbors of a friend of mine.
one had fallen or had a medical issue
the police think.
both were found a few months later.
that's why i check on the old neighbor of mine
he's really having trouble walking now.

While coping with Mom passing I cut this maple up and split it. Decided I'm not dealing with it's leaves next year blowing direct line to front porch.

a friend's kid 18 got some work with a old fella
with a tree service.
they left out at 5:00 am with two other guy's.
and the boy asked if he needed to bring anything
to drink or eat.
nope we got plenty the old guy said.
they got to the job at 6:00 and worked non stop
until 12:00
cutting and chipping storm damage.
everyone had a thermos except him.
and he got to drink old sunbaked plastic water bottles he found rolling around in the back of the pickup
tasted awful he said no labels covered in mud.
he asked if they could eat and he said hell it ain't lunch yet.
he was dying he said.
at 2:00 he called break and threw him a greasy
cold sausage biscuit lol
that was lunch he was tired and pissed
and wanted to fight the other guy's for their biscuits lol
or go up to a stranger's house and beg for food.
he made them stop at krogers
on the way home at 7:00
and bought and ate a whole rotisserie chicken in the truck lol

A friend of mine lives about a hundred yards from his parents and the same thing happened to them. They both somehow went down and couldn't get up or to a phone. They layed there for a day and a half, two days before he found them.

Gettin cold, 36 and windy. Might even freeze!

We drug out an old Sotz barrel stove and burnt a few sticks of firewood.
Pulled it under the tin roof where the TV, couch, chairs, are so we now have some heat.
3 or 4 of the neighbors drop by the shed after work to find out whats going on in our end of the dead end street.
We age 75, 61, 40, 33, and 20 something.
We BS, fix something, watch Jepordy then walk home.

The Chihuahua can only handle five or so minutes of it. He'll stand on his back feet or roll over when his feet get cold, then I have to carry him back to the house... stupid dog.
