I burn 4-6 full cords of dry wood. Mostly red oak heart wood from dead old pencils and tops. Next year I need to stack all red/white oak and locust heart wood. Old black oaks, Asianapin, post and chestnut burn great also. They are all low ash wood. Maple, service berries and mullbury burn hot for less time but leave a lot of white potash behind. It might try the ash in some home brew mortar mix with some Marlton green marl and sticky yellow clay from the pines. Sand is everywhere in all grades here natural or refined products. Plus all the pea gravel you could want in any size.We burn 10-12 cord on average. Stumpy Steve must go through twice that much.
