Sorry to hear about the joint pain.
Not sure what you've tried or testing you've done, but have you ever tried a complex carb/starch free diet, it help me a lot. I was taking a lot for it , I don't take anything now.

Had my 60 minute exercise on the spinning cycle. Wanted to push myself harder and started one step higher on the wattage. That went fine, ended up with a new personal record, ie 1010 calories. My old record was 950.
