Anyone got a recommendation on a fireplace ash vacuum? I bought this Power Smith Ash Vacuum I guess about three seasons ago, probably ain’t been used four dozen times, and it’s all the motor can do to friggin’ run. The motor’s in pristine condition as far as the windings, brushes, commutator, stator. I pulled everything apart, cleaned it all with LPS Electro 140 Contact Cleaner...it just struggles like hell to even run anymore. Guess I shoulda just tossed the $70-75 bucks in the fire that the thing cost. I know B&D makes some, but this thing got really good reviews so I went this route...

I know...have a few sets of fireplace tools, but no matter how careful you are, that fine *s-wordt gets everywhere in the living room when you go that route. My f’d up sinuses don’t need no help in that dept.

My bet is the hot leg on the cord set has an issue.
Try a multi meter in it and check resistance wiggling the hot side wall plug prong

Might also try finding this connection and soldering it.

That’s insane that they cut off power..... I can only imagine what would happen around here if that crap happened.
Spoiled fridge and freezers full of food, lots of folks have no way of cooking and restaurants can’t cook for them. I don’t see how they get away with it.
If the federal/state/county/city gov owns the land around the lines and equipment mow/ maintain trees and shrubs. If it’s private property hold the land owner responsible. Do they *s-word down all road traffic cause of possible sparks? Shut down the railroad for the same reason?

Added some stainless hardware to the back patio fire pit...it needed four extra bolts on the outer perimeter shelf that runs 360 around it. Jared and I cranked up a fire in it yesterday and it reminded me of the needed hardware. Done deal now.
