Spunky saw. Especially considering it was introduced in 1975. I'll bet it just ate those old Stihl turds for breakfast.

Got an 8500 now as well. Same power head but with some improvements to the chassis to keep the ham fisted happy.

How's everything Ross? I guess Eli and Clare are growing like weeds.
Do you know of any alternative AV mounts that can be made to work on them?
The ones on mine are about ready to give up.

The ones on mine are about ready to give up.

I've never tried it but here's one BS did some time ago. I think I'd cut the self tapping threads down and try to run a thread die over the stud. Clamping the rubber might be a trick. I think I'd drill a hole in a piece of hardwood, saw it up the middle and clamp the rubber in that and try to re-thread the stud. Not sure if the stud would rotate out or not.

I'm going need to try something on this one. There all really mushy and I'm afraid once I pull it apart. There's not going to be much life of them.
