Better be 95 or newer for me to have a chance of Remembering it in my youth...
Evening fellas
Cross your fingers.....
One of my buddies in the DFW area called me on Friday *b-wording that they had 2" of snow.
Saturday they had 9 degrees, it was 12 up here in Michigan.
Then the bastard had the nerve to call last night to inform me that it was 78 yesterday....
Were down to maybe 16" on the ground. It snowed 6" more today until it turned to rain about 2:00. I'm gonna build a good sized fire in the garage furnace and hope it slides off the roof. I don't wanna shovel it off, but it looks like it's heavyGood evening guys
We've pretty much got no snow left after today. 12" of snow disappeared today with all the rain and 45* temps
The wind really started picking up about 2 hours ago, they say 50-55mph gusts

It's hickory. Did you expect it to be nice to you?W split that hickory today that we cut last week. The wood out of the limbs was twisted, and was the worse stuff I've ever split.
They are a thing of beauty gentle to ride until you twisty the throttle.View attachment 49181
what boots did you end up with ? heat and grating is hard on my boots

Was the tree on an edge? Or by itself maybe? They get wind and sun twisted and can be a bear to split, especially if they dry outWell no. But.....
I've been heating with wood for 35 years. And....I've split a lot of hickory. Still never seen anything like this stuff.
But it's worth the extra effort when you finally get to burn it. It really cranks out the heat in the wood stove. Can't tell much difference in the boiler though.Well no. But.....
