i fell through a ceiling today. Had knee high blown in insulation. i slipped on a joist and went through. Bad part was the conduit that ripped my leg/arse up. Even worse.....had had to go through the only ceiling in the house that had a mural painted on it. Looks like my art classes in high school will finally pay off. The guy who was working with me was in tears laughing.

You're not the first guy to do that. In college insulating was one of my jobs. Had a potato chip van with the blower in the back to install the "cellulose" insulation. One place had a big picture window that the family ate dinner in front of. Set the van up in the front yard by the window. Guy feeding the blower had a hell of a view of the applicators leg coming down through the ceiling......during dinner.

I've also gone through a ceiling, though only up to one knee before I caught myself. Of course it was it was through a freshly plastered ceiling.

You made a big hole, Glad yer ok.You will have to put a ton of paint to cover that cluster muck up. I put my foot through a guys ceiling years ago while he was on vacation. I was wiring a doorbell up. He had a blown ceiling and I had to fix that stuff before he got home.

No amount of paint will do you need a bigger trowel widen it out a couple feet all the way around.It's only a problem if you can't fix it.

ive done some ceilings and made them look like nothing ever happened. Then ive done some that look horrible. Im hoping I can do 4 mud n sand coats and make it look good.

Be easier if the ceiling was textured.

Also give it a coat of prime. It will cover the small chit and make the real problems pop.
