Spring is officially here, I just picked up our first run of chicks for the year

I keep wanting to but I pasture mine and we're getting into them finishing out in summer heat.

I got my chicks back in January... Be laying by the Fourth of July.

Have to order 26 at a time but I sell the extras for a nice profit on CL.

These are Cornish Cross. We quit raising the layers last year. At our peak we had 80 of them and lisa was selling out of eggs, but last winter she had ankle surgery and had to be off her feet for 8 weeks, so we ended up getting rid of them prior to that.

We do about 200 of these meat birds throughout the summer. Best chicken I've ever had

i fell through a ceiling today. Had knee high blown in insulation. i slipped on a joist and went through. Bad part was the conduit that ripped my leg/arse up. Even worse.....had had to go through the only ceiling in the house that had a mural painted on it. Looks like my art classes in high school will finally pay off. The guy who was working with me was in tears laughing.
