The power company hires that work done for them, they have also been slowly replacing overhead lines with underground cable, so it is getting better, and probably why the power is still on right now, they've a ways to go to get it all done though.

I've always wondered why in the hell they don't bury those lines in the first place.

Made it home and looks like we might be here for a while. We are supposed to be headed about 45 minutes North tomorrow for another dinner with my wife's extended family but I don't think we are going to make it. Their is a blizzard rolling in that is starting to get nasty and not stopping before morning and then the winds will pick up.

12 to 15inches of snow, 50 to 70 mph winds I don't think I am willing to test the highways in that...
Sounds like PEI. Hope it blows itself out before it gets here

I've always wondered why in the hell they don't bury those lines in the first place.
Maybe the price we live in a reasonably new estate (18 years old)it all underground power here but our main power feed is from overhead lines on the other end of the estate, if something happens at that end 5000 homes are without power ,and that happens about 4 times a year
