55 oF here 9 AM and we are finally getting some, 1-2" of RAIN!!!

Spent whole afternoon yesterday in the garden, getting in late cool weather crops plantings/starts for fall, tilled all weeds under to bare earth.

In empty areas put in some buckwheat cover crop to act as decoy fodder for the deer. The deer go straight to buckwheat and leave the veggies alone.

Next week I'll put the game camera over the plot to see what I have been fattening up for fall?

Have I mentioned my dislike of cars lately?

2024 Buick Envista. 1,000 miles.
Evaporator leaking.
Nice.
Holy crap! Theoretical question, is all that crap REALLY needed for a functional and safe car if the nut behind the wheel actually pays attention to the fact they're hurtling down the road at a deadly speed in a multi-ton roller skate? ....end rant....

I'm in the midst of diagnostics and troubleshooting our dishwasher and refrigerator / freezer. I swear, I'm going back to Dawn, a dishrag, and a Philco fridge with ice trays.

Is it beer thirty yet???

That’s why my fleet runs Chevy express vans. Twelve of them. 30 years old and still in production. Just a few drivetrain variations. 6.0/4L80, 6.0/6L90 or 6.6/8L90. Interior is nearly identical across those 30 years. We also have a few trucks and 3/4 ton Suburbans with the 6.0/6L90.

Always wondered about longevity of the Express vans. I fooked up and bought a used 2014 E250 Ferd with the 5.4 for our field crew. Around 110k miles it started spitting out plugs like a pez dispenser. Replaced the head and sent it down the road. Good to know the Express has a good track record!

They’re excellent. We abuse the crap out of them guiding outdoor trips. They haul trailers and passengers over mountain passes, long stretches of highway, and on washboard roads. Several of ours are well over 200k.

That’s one of our go to meals, the family loves it! Next time you make it throw a few poblanos on that tray in the oven they add some good flavor!
Just using stuff from the garden. But I will keep it in mind.

I love this stuff straight up with chips, on cheesy eggs, and anything Mexican. The mini jalapenos that I have this year are hotter'n a mfer.
