Morning guys. Took the day off to take the wife for an appointment. Could use some good vibes from the group here. She’s very scared at this point. It will be a couple weeks before we get results from her biopsy today but we are trying to stay positive. On a good note this will be the only day this week I get an 8 hour day. Sometimes we have to look for the positives in these times.
Prayers for the misses bud.

Got my junkyard 372 in from @LAWN BOY and I’m positive that the issue was debris from a broken piston skirt. The question is why? The bearings are all smooth and intact. The cylinder and piston actually looked to be pretty low hour. Debris caused gouging in the plating near the right side transfer bridge. After honing, it doesn’t look like the plating was actually chipped or broken. Just for the heck of it, I cleaned up the piston and grooves. I’m half tempted to throw rings in it and see how long it runs. Worst that could happen is I have to get a new top end anyways, right?

I had an 034 that I was recently working on and it too had a broken skirt, but no damage to the cylinder. I replaced the piston with a new after market one and ran some scotchbrite on the inside of the cylinder and it worked fine. I was surprised that there wasn't any damage to the cylinder with as much of the skirt that broke off.

Just get one of dukes plated pistons and run it
They're good to go I've used about a dozen of them.

It’s been a busy week between work, kids, appointments, and getting ready for this road trip. Wife had a spinal injection earlier Thursday. Hopefully it helps with the chronic pain for a while. I was sound asleep and got woken up by two weirdos from Florida that were lost, lol. I guess that happens when you are at the end of the road.

Good Morning/ Evening All. Wildfires remain the most common topic of discussion right now. Thankfully we are hundreds of miles away but the smoke is starting to create a filter In the upper atmosphere even if we can’t smell it down low. I am hoping the guessers are wrong and we get some rain, it sure feels like it is about to out there right now.

You can sure see how the smoke was filtering the sun light last evening, and this morning is just grey.
