Evening diks. Another man down at the shop I work for. It was not a surprise. Spent the day working the docks again. Tomorrow they have some service work for me then back to the docks for Thursday. I was asked to smoke a brisket for a friend this weekend and against my better judgement I said yes. I will be asking the smoking gods to let my pitboss get me through an overnight cook. The neighbor has a hopper extension I might use to really load up the pellets. I’ll probably set an alarm to get up and check things throughout the night as well. Don’t pull it to hard the rest of the week. After all it is a holiday weekend and some of us will be honoring those that have served.
Fingers crossed for a successful brisket slacker

Good morning men. I am recovering from the worst allergy attack I ever remember suffering thru. We drove out to my brother in law's barn (thru the hayfield) to fetch his tractor....by that afternoon my eyes were swelled nearly shut.

Just throwing this out there for anyone interested.
Was conversing with @redline4 about the air ratchets he has on the 'for sale' section, and I accessed the Wounded Warrior Project to make a donation, since Memorial Day is upcoming.
Apparently USAA will match donations to WWP made on Memorial Day, dollar for dollar, up to $150k. So if anyone was contemplating that, Monday would be the best bang for your buck.
Full disclosure, I'm not a veteran or involved in any way with WWP or USAA, just trying to help, and this thread seems to get a lot of traffic...

Currently under a tornado watch until 8:00 pm
Hope yinz have betterer luck with the tornado than we did here. We had a couple dozen small ones come through the mitten late last week. Rain today meant it was the first day off I’ve had since. Which is good because I’m pretty forkin tired of “helpful” burbtards and roofs… Bunch of forkin pickup stick puzzles that you literally have to cut apart to chip.IMG_5763.jpegIMG_5760.jpeg

Also this is why they tell you not to run a chipper with glovesIMG_5764.jpeg

Wash them out with baby shampoo and get some Pataday drops…..speaking from experience.

It looks worse than it was (title of my new sex tape). My right hand is always on the infeed stop so I could have just reversed the feed wheel direction, but in the moment it felt better to just yank instead and release pent up frustration (title of my sequel).😘

Good morning numpties,

Yesterday was a testing of patience.
a friend asked if I could weld his sack trolly as It’s got a couple of hairline cracks
I say Yeh by the time I get the stuff out it be about half hr. 👍

I gets the generator out and welding stuff, the generator then coughs & conks out. I know It’s a dirty carb . I sort that out then attempts to start it, then the recoil spring breaks in the starter. I takes it apart and sure enough it’s broken and I get real greasy hands after I ping it out and handle it. It needs heating it up with a blowtorch where I need to bend it so it don’t break.

I do that and finally get it back together and then weld what I was supposed to do. That’s now 2hrs later.😴

In the afternoon I’m cutting a hedge with a long reach hedge cutter (hl 75) then the throttle cable broke 🤦‍♂️
But as luck would have it I have a spare which I shall fit this morning and carryon with that hedge.

Good morning slobs,

my sleep was lousy, maybe an hour or two, but I'll try to sneak in a few naps during the day.

Ordered a new chainsaw for light work, it's been 13 years since I last bought a new one. It'll probably arrive next week.

The one issued to me when I worked at UT that was meticulously maintained spun the cam bearings with only 62K miles on it. 😆
I used to know the mechanics that serviced those trucks……I would say it had a ton of hours as well. Anything can happen to any of them though. We had a glass truck do the same thing with a 5.7 sitting at Ellington PS idling to keep the AC on while we finished a quick job. I heard it start squealing and then locked up!
