Mornin fluffers. Makin surple…..View attachment 453919been a shìt year for it so far. Only 25 gallons to boil after three days. Probably shut this operation down after next week.
That's pretty rough DJ. How many taps?

Just landed. Should be a quick flip to the plane to Charleston after some delay. Glad this isn't the last stop

23 taps. We made about four gallons last year with 16. I haven’t finished anything yet but I know there’s not much over 2 gallons right now.

There's a cube tied to a web of poly lines on my drive home. The daily quantities have been lower than in years past. We've got a night or two early next week that may stop the trees from budding, but it seems like a long shot.

That’s pretty much where we’re at too.

True.

I'd move.
Suns out and it's a beautiful 23. I'll stay
Thanks for the notice Wayne. I’m not moving because of it.
Good call
Good Morning All. Heavy grey overcast but just a few flakes of snow. The western back edge of the system is just clipping us but looks like for the most part missed us.

Doing well for the most part, can’t talk about the stuff that is causing me stress and aggravation as we all agreed no political talk…
I feel ya.

Good evening. Snow is disappearing quick. Did some maple syrup at work today amongst other things. Worked 9.5 hours today.
Meh good for you kiddo you put in a normal work day. Talk to us when you’ve worked a double shift cutting storm damage in 40 degrees and rain.🤷🏼‍♂️

Seems like the last few years here if you don’t get your taps in for that first wiff of false spring in February you miss half the season. The Silver/Red maple around me have flowers already. I bet the hard maple is soon to follow.

I worked 50-55 hours per week on average last summer. Most was a little over 63. Lots of 10-12 hour days in the summer heat farming. Did 12 hour days of just weed whacking fence-lines.
