Good morning all. 63f heading 86 and clear.

When are you getting the results Billy?
Hope it's nothing serious you're having the xray and mri for.

Tor, it's basically a followup in imaging from a few years ago to see if my back has gotten worse. Degenerative disk disease, scoliosis, some arthritis. The good news is that it hasn't gotten worse, so we can continue with conservative treatment and avoid surgery. This is the outcome I was hoping for, so its good news.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: - I had to break up a fight at a speedway gas station last night that I'm praying makes the news so I can send you guys the link, a crackhead and a Baghdad Bob went at it in the store - the way I separated them was priceless. I threw that cracked out dude like a Frisbee and told the guy working the register to calm down before I slapped him too. The ONLY reason I got involved was because they plowed into this old guy that was just standing there with a bewildered look on his face that just wanted to pay for his gas :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I have the great pleasure of working on my neighbor's 660 Chinese clone.
This time it went well, all the cylinder screws were loose. No scoring so there is no doubt that they are built like a German tank.

Many stepped forward, and just as many stepped back.
It turned out that the crankcase threads were damaged, but so was the gasket, so luck in a way.

Oh well, the Chinese is going to be a bit more work than I hoped for.
I'll have to check the squish to see if I can dump it on with 518.

Cool deal. Most parts and generators are still available for them if you have any issues. 10-15 years ago you could find parts in old hardware stores still. One time I bought out an ACE hardware that had parts bin from Coleman loaded with mostly lantern stuff for less than a 100 if I remember right. If you look on the bottom of your stove there should be a date. Month and year.
I found a code on the bottom of the tank tabs. The tank and stove have been repainted. It looks to read 064 and from a Google search that means June 1964. So almost as old as me. Model 425D, has the heavy wire closures on each side that fold under for legs.

If you can avoid surgery - that would be best. My mom has a bum knee but has been managing it for about twelve years to avoid going under the knife.

I can picture that very clearly...

Nice. Are you going to try to fire it up? Walmarts here carry coleman white gas most of the year.

Edit:

Theres a couple of places on fleabay that sell the leather pump cup. Sometimes you can soak em in neatsfoot oil and bring them back to life.

My dad gave it to me when I was around 12 years old. It was very rusty and didn't work. I took apart what I could figure out how to and cleaned it up and painted it. It's green but a darker shade than original. I used to use it quite often years ago but haven't fired it up in about 20 years. I do plan on firing it up again at some point.
