The queen comes in this, and it has a plastic cap as you can see and a plug of sugar candy in the tube

View attachment 418497

We were instructed to pull the cap, push the gizmo down between 2 frames, and cover the hive

Supposedly the queen will eat through the candy in 2-3 days which allows them all time to sniff and growl and figure out the pecking order

We are supposed to make sure she is out by the 3rd day or we are supposed to break out any remaining candy to make a hole just smaller than the queen and she will finish the job ASAP

I'm up too early for a 2nd shifter. Gonna go make some coffee...

Have to load the tractor on the trailer this morning and haul it to my uncle's place. He had 20 yards of topsoil delivered a week ago to fill and level spots in his yard. I suggested that I bring the compact tractor and loader over to save his back, and he actually took me up on the help for once. Torn between using the 3 point tiller or the box blade. Might just bring both...

Good morning men, slept in so had to hit the farm chores first. Coffee time, animals are all set for a while. We got plenty of liquid sunshine last couple days. Looks like today is going to be a growing day. Big yeller thing is lit, and beaming. Stay safe all.

So we cooked bacon in the air fryer today - it’s a game changer. I had thick cut bacon from our pig ready to eat in less than 5 minutes. We otherwise always cooked it in the oven, which turned out great, but took a while.
