Pretty amazing engineering and machining Ed. So do the main caps float in the lower base assembly? I see the hardware goes through the windage tray too. Fuggin amazing.
The lower crankcase is also the main bearing "cap".
I removed the bearings to clean the lower crankcase


Makes the engines pretty ridged.
Problem with these is the ran out of room to put perimeter bolts at the rear and paired with the exhaust routed right next to it causes degradation of the seals faster than they really should..
This is a 2011, but only 60,000 miles.
