Your sunset pictures are fantastic.
Thanks

We are about to lose direct line of sight with the sun for a while

It will be below the southern horizon

It’s mostly gone now because of the mountains south and east of us but we still see it a few times a day, weather permitting

We bought our other house in the dead middle of summer and didn’t realize it was in the shadows of the high mountains for most of the winter

This house is much better for southern exposure

So you will live in darkness for how long a day ?
Steak for dinner. Not the tube variety.

Both Fahrenheit and Celsius have long, weird histories and I could go on ad astra with it.

Two day to day advantages to Fahrenheit. One is you don't need to incorporate negative numbers into temperatures that you regularly encounter. No negative numbers equals easier math. 0 Fahrenheit is cold to touch, 100 is warm, 200 is too hot to touch. Easy. Two is that Fahrenheit is more accurate without using fractions or decimals. 180 degrees between boiling and freezing in Fahrenheit. Only 100 with Celsius. That's almost twice as accurate using only whole numbers.

Kelvin is the ultimate system for measuring temperature. There are no negatives. It is scientifically correct. There is no such thing as cold, only lack of heat and only the Kelvin scale acknowledges this.

And it is not a real metric unit, the SI copy and pasted it in 1954 when they realized how stupid Celsius is and then pretended like it was theirs all along, akin to claiming ownership of the moon.
I don’t know about where you live but where I am and @Loony661 and the rest of the MN and WI crew see far too many negative Fahrenheit numbers every winter.
I’ve been having mid back pain after sleeping a couple hours every night, a new kind of pain, not bothered at all during day but after I try to sleep wakes me up throbbing pain, goes away after I sit up for 20 minutes
Been going on for 5 months, has affected my sleep overall for sure.
How old are your mattress and pillows? Stomach, back or side sleeper? If on stomach or sides where do you put your arms? Lots of sleep pains are based on how and on what we sleep.

I’m a side sleeper and used to always keep my bottom hand under my head but it was causing me all kinds of shoulder issues. Now I make sure that my hands are “in front” and my shoulder issues are pretty much non existent.

We are below the Arctic Circle so we never truly lose the sun

I should have said “our local horizon” when I said we would lose the sun

Just because of what’s south of us

Even then we will have soft light from 10:00 AM something to around 3:00 PM

Light enough to do stuff outside

It’s just something you either get used to and it doesn’t bother you or you move somewhere else

I hear Randy’s back yard is nice…
