If'n anyone is ever tempted to leave the (push)mower running on top of the yellow jacket nest?
I got a chance one summer....
Even after pressure washing it and re-lubing everything, a few of the bastids still always followed that mower around for two more summers.

Two oz of gasoline in an empty water bottle and wait till bout 4a.m. then stick the bottle in the hole (neck down) and leave it be for a couple of days.
Leaving the bottle in the hole (and no fire nonsense) lets the fumes take out the stragglers that show up over the next couple of days.

The push mower works I have done but stay on it for a good 10-15 min

I struggled with the routine a bit in late August / early September but need to keep it going. I am at my best when I do, though at times the extra sleep is really appealing...

They go for the kill!
The africanized bees go for the head, throat, breathing areas also.
I take the yellow jacket/ground hornet threat seriously, they try to kill me and i try to kill them.
Ground hornets you find the hole then just before dark put a railroad flair blasting in it.
They hear the flair and fly out into the blasting flame and DIE.
Next day pour your choice of liquid chemical into the hole to kill their unborn children.

Today at work while we were eating lunch, a guy whose house we were working by came over to BS. After a few minutes he asked if we knew how to quiet a rooster that is apparently too loud. I don’t think he liked my suggestion of a 12 gauge

The belt and pulley rubbing on it was inducing EMI into the module. Put it back in its place on the fan shroud and it acts fine.

After I ate a bit of supper, the Bubba and I caught the cows and separated them from the calves. Worked 6 bull calves. Bands, shots, etc. Had 3 more to do, but it was getting dark, and I'm sorta tired. We'll get them another time.
