They were, Derby is still alive. I have a lot of happy memories with them two when I was growing up.

Derby is the one who got me hooked on dodges. This used to be his truck. 1970 W100 Power Wagon, it was special ordered 383 with a 4 spd. It would get up and scoot. He taught me to drive it when I was 14. By the time I got my learners permit when I was 15, he would send me to town by myself to get things for him at the lumber yard in it, he built custom homes.

He bought this truck back in 1973 from the original owner when he was living in Laramie WY. He sold it in 2019, he offered it to me, but I just couldn't swing it. It was really hard to pass it up, really hard!!! It was a truck I had wanted since I was a kid. One of my cousins listed on a online auction site, it brought about triple what he offered it to me for. Which was best for him at the time anyways.

Last I knew it was in MO. It had around 68,000 original miles on it when he sold it. When he first bought it, he drove it almost daily for a few years, then later it was only used 3-4 times a year. It was a privilege he let me drive it, the few times a year it came out in the daylight, I was often the one behind the wheel.

Any of you guys heard about the missing woman from Winona, MN that they are searching for? It’s starting to make national news I guess. Anyway, some of my fellow fire dept guys were involved with the search party for this woman today - over 1,860 volunteers showed up to help search multiple areas between Winona and Fillmore Co’s! People showing up from a few hours away has been confirmed, and rumors of people driving from as far as Missouri to aid the search (not proven though).. Pretty amazing what people will do.

I hadn't heard about it, until now. I looked it up, and watched the sheriffs report on NBC.

I'm sure her significant other is in the hot seat! Sounds like he was the last to see her according to what the report says.

Is this what you are talking about?

He was a total riot to be with. Him and my uncle Derby were always blast to hang out with.

Uncle Don died of cancer in 2005, he was 64. Worked all them years, retired bought a new 1-ton dodge and new 40' 5th wheel camper, he made one trip to CO/WY, he hung out at my place for almost a week, he got back home he was not feeling well, went to see the doc, he was diagnosed with cancer, he died 6 month later.
cancer sucks.
Let's hope that these somewhat miserable covid vaccines can enable them to use some of the technology to make more effective cancer medicine.

You seem to have fond memories of your uncle.

It was a honey of a truck. I don't even like looking at the pictures of it too much.

It had the sport adventure package, stainless trim on the outside, bucket seats, with fold down center counsel, nicer door panels, nicer of the two headliners they offered. It also had the heavy duty gauge cluster with factory tach.

Whoever ordered that truck loaded it up with a lot of the hard to find options.

I enjoy a cup of tea before bed, I only have two cups of coffee in the morning, before I drank 2 liters of coffee throughout the day.
Used to dehydrate severely in the evening, with meds it was spooky, 80/50 in BP was not pleasant.
Got a lot better with the changes I made.

We are slow here in the Nordics, but duralite has arrived, 63ga, and the new TsuMura have also arrived, only in 20" though.

In case you guys are not following the winters over thread.

These pic's were taken in western Colorado on 4-4-23, they have recorded 635" of snow so far this winter, and there's over a 200" base up there. And they got another 16" of snow on Wednesday. Yes those are two story houses.

This area of Colorado is known as the Grand Mesa. I've seen it snow there in July, not just flakes either, 6-7 inches of fresh snow in July. I've worked on houses up there, when I lived in that area of CO.

Grand Mesa is the largest flattop mountain range in the world, elevation between 10,000 and 11,000 feet. Encompassing more than 500 square miles, there's just over 300 stream fed alpine lakes. That area of Colorado just makes it's own weather.

Randy you should come visit. @Mastermind :)

Good morning men, puppy is sleeping solid until 5:30. So too late to go back to sleep. Which is fine. I feel much better with a solid chunk of sleep, vs the multiple interruptions we were having. Not a Dodge guy. But love the power wagons. Hold on to those good memories @maulhead. Thanks for sharing them.

Planning my day around the weather, rain this morning, clearing later. Be safe all.

The shepherd had the squirts for about a week. I was up several times for three nights before he finally had to sleep in the barn. He's healed up...now my son's Chihuahua has the same deal. I thought it was something the big dummy ate....guess not. 👎👎

My dogs had whip worm, never heard of that before. Safeguard for goats cured it. Might be something like that. Hópe they get better.

Mornin’ mongrels…sitting at the high of 50 right now, crazy ass weather coming from 80’s yesterday. Looking like scattered wet stuff all day around these parts, weather for the Masters ain’t looking much different roughly 140 miles away from here.
